OVERVIEW

Pawth is behavioral dog walking app designed to adapt to each dog owner's unique needs. If offers personalized features for managing reacitivity, planning safe walking routes, and creating more peaceful walks together. By focusing on both the dog's and owner's experience, Pawth supports a healthier, more enjoyable walking routine. I led the end-to-end design process, including user research, brand strategy, UX/UI design for mobile, wireframing, and visual design, making sure the app's aesthetic and functionality aligned with user needs.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Many dog owners struggle with challenges during walks, such as reactivity toward other dogs, routes becoming stressful or unsafe, and difficulty maintaining calm environments. These issues affect not only the dog's behavior but also owners feel unconfident as they lose enjoyment. Dog walking tools existing now often focus solely on tracking distance or time, which overlooks the behavioral and emotional needs of both dogs and owners.

RESEARCH - VISUAL BRAINSTORM

Pawth focuses on improving the daily walking experience for both dogs and their owners. The app is shaped around six key areas: understanding needs, addressing dog behavior, offering effective training features, enhancing the walk itself, building asocial community, and setting clear design goals.

RESEARCH - USER SURVEY

To gain insights into the everyday experiences of dog owners, I conducted a short survey with 10 participants focused on walking routines and common challenges. Based on the findings, I organized the responses using an affinity diagram and developed focused questions to conduct follow-up interviews. The most common issue reported was Pulling / Reactivity (4%), followed by Distraction (2%). Interestingly, 2% of users indicated they faced no major issues, highlighting that not all dog owners are actively struggling some are simply looking to maintain a smooth routine. Anxiety and Lack of Time were also noted, though by a smaller number of respondents. This showed a key distinction between users who need behavioral support and those who just want to stay consistent.

VISUAL DIRECTION

The logo design was based on those same three ideas. It features a happy dog character that feels fun and approachable, showing the playful side of the brand. The dog is holding a location pin in its mouth, which hints that this app is all about walking not just about dogs in general. This small detail connects to the idea of Path and makes the purpose of the app clear at a glance.
