OVERVIEW
What is Pawth?
Pawth is behavioral dog walking app designed to adapt to each dog owner's unique needs. If offers personalized features for managing reacitivity, planning safe walking routes, and creating more peaceful walks together. By focusing on both the dog's and owner's experience, Pawth supports a healthier, more enjoyable walking routine. I led the end-to-end design process, including user research, brand strategy, UX/UI design for mobile, wireframing, and visual design, making sure the app's aesthetic and functionality aligned with user needs.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Dog owners lack tools that address reactivity and stress, making walks less safe and enjoyable.
Many dog owners struggle with challenges during walks, such as reactivity toward other dogs, routes becoming stressful or unsafe, and difficulty maintaining calm environments. These issues affect not only the dog's behavior but also owners feel unconfident as they lose enjoyment.
RESEARCH
Conducting user interviews to uncover everyday challenges.
To gain insights into the everyday experiences of dog owners, I conducted a short survey with 10 participants focused on walking routines and common challenges. Based on the findings, I organized the responses using an affinity diagram and developed focused questions to conduct follow-up interviews. This showed a key distinction between users who need behavioral support and those who just want to stay consistent.
Analyzing competitor products to identify gaps and opportunities.
Single-focus solution: Each app emphasizes one are (Dogo = training, Rover = Safety, Dogpack = Community) but lacks integration.
No personalization: None of the apps adapt to a dog's unique personality or walking style.
Context gap: They don't fully address real-world walking challenges where behavior and environment interact.
IDEATE
Encouraging stress-free and confident walks.
I created the information architecture to organize Pawth into four main sections ensuring that navigation stays simple while supporting key tasks like route tracking, dog profiles, and training resources.
Visual direction
The logo design features a happy dog character that feels fun and approachable, showing the playful side of the brand. The dog is holding a location pin in its mouth, which hints that this app is all about walking not just about dogs in general. This small detail connects to the idea of Path and makes the purpose of the app clear at a glance.
PROTOTYPE
Built wireframes for onboarding process and core experience.
To differentiate Pawth from existing apps, I designed a dedicated onboarding process that collects both the dog's and owner's profiles. This allows the app to recommended personalized walking routes right from the start, ensuring the experience adapts to individual needs.
FINAL DESIGNS
Hi-fi design
I created a high-fidelity prototypes with realistic visuals and key interactions to simulate the walking experience, without fully building every possible features.
